West Kent Debt Advice is supported by a partnership of Christian churches across West Kent
in order to serve the whole community regardless of race, belief or gender.
We are a member of AdviceUK,
the UK's largest network of advice-providing organisations.
We are also a member of
West Kent Partnership whose aim is to provide the best advice service to our
local communities by working together,
using an integrated referral system.
We are authorised by the
Financial Conduct Authority
(Authorisation Number 618875)
for the provision of debt advice.
WKDA is a registered charity and is an independent non-profit making organisation.
WKDA incorporates the advice centres formerly known as Sevenoaks Debt
Advice Centre, Tonbridge Debt Advice Centre and Tunbridge Wells Community
Centre for Debt Advice.
What do we do?
WKDA has a team of experienced staff and volunteer advisers who are
trained to help people in debt through a process of investigating their
money issues and working with them to develop solutions that will seek to
return them to a sound financial footing.
We are here to help anyone who has debt problems and we deal with all
types of issues from credit card debt, council tax arrears, utility bills
through to threatened eviction or county court action.
We start the process by conducting a full income and expenditure
assessment so that we can fully understand your individual
circumstances. Using a financial statement which summarises your
financial situation and debts we will then discuss with you what your

- Endeavour to establish a fair and affordable solution with your creditors
- Negotiate on your behalf if appropriate
- Advise you on the most appropriate strategy for your situation,
including bankruptcy or debt relief orders if necessary.
Whatever we decide together, we will help you through the entire process.
Our service is completely FREE, impartial and strictly confidential.
